Like other reviews said, you have to go at night. Also, there are two bridges, one on each side of Railroad Park. Maps takes you to the slightly more sketchy side and less exciting as it has less lights, so definitely go to the other one as well. The bridge changes colors, so you have to wait for it to get to the rainbow colors.
Unfortunately I didn’t listen to the other reviews and went during the day, and it isn’t worth it at all.
I was happy to see that there weren’t any homeless people in the tunnel though! 😂
Just go here when it’s dark because the photos will look way better!
The tunnel is also small, so you won’t spend more than 5 minutes here.
This is also one of the fun place to visit. You can spend max 20 to 30 minutes over there. If you want to explore more place near here to need more time means this is at the downtown and lots of construction is going on. This is a tunnel where the rainbow Led lights is installed. There is two tunnel for traffic to pass and there is two tunnels in both side of road for president. You can enjoy the light while driving . But please go over there at night so you can enjoy the light more beautiful. I went at day time so it’s okay. You can see in the picture which I have uploaded. Any regarding parking there is lots of street parking with meters on . It’s only 50 cent for half an hours and you can pay only for 15 20 minutes also. Due to the lots of homeless guys stay over there and roaming over there the tunnel is dirty and smelly. But no worries about safety lots of security person are roaming around this area. Go and enjoy.
Off the so-called beaten path....A lovely walk after the ballgame at Regions Park....This tunnel reminded me about life in China....If you get a chance to drive or walk the tunnel 'do it at night....My kiddos were amazed.
We drove through during the day. Nothing to see! I was so disappointed.
Visited on a chilly windy Saturday afternoon, water had gathered with the hazard of possibly being splashed bypassing cars. Only one homeless person was sleeping in the tunnel. The lights were not changing color just too subtle blue shade over the walkways not really all that exciting, not worth the visit except for the education of what cities are like.
This is one of the most amazing sureal experiences I've ever found it's in constant flux and will warp your visual reality
I seen this on the internet listed under things to do for free in Alabama. I live 30 minutes from Birmingham and never seen this tunnel so I figured I would take my kids to it. It looked way bigger and a lot neater in the pictures on the internet. My kids weren't amused. It's still pretty cool looking though.
